@mitch I think they either cut back on luxuries or sold out to even richer people.

Things were more obvious with the middle class: classic restored domestic cars (1950’s Chevy’s, early ‘60’s Impala’s, etc.) got pushed out of garages onto lawns with for sale signs. Ditto big motorcycles. All at very good prices. There were a lot of these all over the county.
